(nee Keffer) Passed peacefully away at the Salvation Army Glenbrook Lodge on January 30, 2008, Muriel Eunice Whiteway, age 85 years. Muriel was predeceased by her parents; her sisters, Eileen and Willa; and her brother Robert (Bob). She leaves to mourn her husband of 53 years, Stanley; her sister Ethel Stanbury of Peterborough, ON; many nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews; and other family members in Newfoundland, Ontario and throughout Canada and the United States. Muriel was a former employee of Dominion Supermarket where she worked for 30 years - in their Hamilton Avenue store and ending her career at the Dominion on Elizabeth Avenue East. Over the years since her retirement, many of the patrons of these stores remembered her well for her friendliness and helpful assistance. She will be sadly missed by her niece, Sharon Marshall. At Muriel's request, cremation has taken place. A committal service will be held at Mount Pleasant Cemetery, 2:00 p.m. on Friday, February 1, 2008. As expressions of sympathy, donations in her memory may be made to the Alzheimer's and Diabetic Associations.
