Peter Joseph Cashin
Passed peacefully away at the age of 86 on April 25, 2008 at the Carmelite House in Grand Falls-Windsor. Predeceased by wife Mary (Kelly) and parents John and Caroline Cashin. He was a veteran of the Royal Canadian Navy in the Second World War. He was a fourth-degree member of the Knights of Columbus. He was a member of the Grand Falls Volunteer Fire Department for forty years of which 21 years he served as Chief. Left to mourn with fond memories are: brother John (Patty), sister Teresa (Durrenberger), special friend Julie Walsh; sons: John (Marg), Ed (Wanda), Jim (Clara), Peter (Selina), Ron (Margo), and daughters: Carolyn (Dr. Conor) Maguire, Colleen (Ted) Dawe, Patricia (Jim) Tse and Diane (Terry) Hart. Also, leaving to mourn are grandchildren: Robert, Michelle, Ann-Marie, Lisa, Laura, Sara, Aaron, Michael, Colleen, Rory, Nick, Mary Beth, Katie, Mark, Kevin, Carolyn, Nora and Mary. Funeral arrangements by Central Funeral Homes. Visitation on Saturday, 7 - 9 p.m. , and Sunday, 2 - 4 p.m. and 7 - 9 p.m. Funeral mass to take place at the Cathedral of Immaculate Conception on Monday, April 28, with Father David Joy residing. Cremation and interment to follow. Pallbearers are John, Ed, Jim, Peter and Ron Cashin and Ted Dawe. Donations gratefully accepted by the Alzheimer's Society.
