(nee Cummings) July 4, 1922 - April 26, 2008 Passed peacefully away at Hoyles-Escasoni after a brief and courageous fight with cancer. Predeceased by her husband Frank Brown. Leaving to mourn son Gregory Owen (wife Susan); daughter Sally Linda Magill (husband Richard); grandchildren: Andrew Brown (wife Jill), Amy Brown (Joel Adams), Sarah Philpott (nee Brown) (husband Chris), Richard O. Magill (Marlene Marsh); great-grandchildren: Morgan, Anna, Noah, David and Owen; brother Henry Cummings (wife Eleanor); nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Many thanks to all the staff at Escasoni and Murphy's Shady Rest Home for their gentle and loving care of Melva and her family throughout the years. Cremation has taken place. Family will be receiving visitors and friends at Carnell's Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road on Tuesday, April 29, 2008 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. A service to celebrate Melva's life will take place on Wednesday, April 30, 2008 at 11 a.m. at the Carnell Memorial Chapel.
