Retired businessman, artist, avid sports-fisherman and long time resident of Gander on Sunday, April 27, 2008, following a short illness. Lorne was active in community affairs having served many years on the Board of Directors of the Gander Chamber of Commerce and as its President in 1977, and was awarded a lifetime Honorary Membership in 1985. In 1989, following many years of service to Gander Loins Club, as both its President and on the Board of Directors, he was made Lifetime Honorary Member. Lorne served on the Vestry of the St. Martins Anglican Parish, and provided many Gander residents a sample of his bad acting ability in the uproariously funny annual St. Martins Spring concert. Predeceased by his son Wayne and brother Reginald. Sadly missed by his wife Eileen Margaret, son Reid of Fredericton, NB; brothers: Harry (Eda) of South River, grandchildren: Doug of Charlottetown, PEI, Robert of Halifax, NS, Susan of Halifax; great-grandchildren: Cassie and Ava of Charlottetown, PEI; also a large circle of other relatives and friends. Funeral service, Wednesday, April 30, 2008 at 2 p.m. from St. Martins Anglican Church, Gander. Interment All Saints Cemetery.
