(Ted) Joseph Passed peacefully away surrounded by his family at the Health Science Centre on Saturday, May 3, 2008, Edward Joseph Power, age 84 years. He was a very kind and charitable person and always praised people for their finest qualities. Ted was a Life Master Bridge player and dearly loved the game and the friends he made through a lifetime of teaching, writing and playing Bridge. He was a past president of the B.I.S. and past chairman and board member of the R.C. School Board of St. John's. He will be missed dearly by his family and friends. Predeceased by parents Joseph and Marie; sisters Peggy and Betty; brothers Philip and Hubert; daughter-in-law Margot. Leaving to mourn his wife of 61 years Clare (Fennessey); children Allan, Peggy Connors (Wayne), Paul, Ted, Gerry (a.k.a. Joe, Carol Ann), Chris (Gwen Wells), Craig (Kristine), Susan Tobin (Norm), Jim (Dianne) and Gord (Donna). Grandchildren Jennifer (Mike), Heather (Tim), Mark, Maria, Ashley, Christina (Danny), Kimberley, Anna, Lauren, Liam, Joel, Katie, Justin and Vanessa. Great grandchild Claire. Brothers Frank (Corinne), David (Rita) and Don (Florence). Sisters-in-law Isabelle Fennessey and Mary McGee. Brother-in-law Juan Lopez. Also a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Resting at Caul's Funeral Home, LeMarchant Road. Visitation on Sunday from 7 p.m. – 9 p.m. and Monday from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. – 9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Tuesday, May 6, 2008 at 9:30 a.m. from St. Teresa's Church, Mundy Pond Road. Interment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Flowers gratefully accepted or donations in his memory may be made to the Daffodil Place.
