It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Jim Whelan at St. Clare's Hospital on Monday, May 5, 2008 at the Intensive Care Unit, James William Whelan, age 69 years. Jim was a 4th Degree Member of Archbishop Howley Council of the Knights of Columbus and a 3rd Degree Team Member of Terra Nova Team Council 1452. Leaving with cherished memories one brother John and sister-in-law Jenny; niece Jennifer Smith (Chris); sister Brenda Garren and nephew Michael in Baltimore; special aunt Mary Mudie (Johnnie); special cousin Marie Ryall, St. John's, cousin Rhonda Layman, Nova Scotia, cousin Elizabeth Titherington, Toronto; as well as other relatives and many friends. Resting at Caul's Funeral Home, LeMarchant Road. Visitation Thursday from 7 p.m. - 9 p.m. and Friday from 2 p.m. - 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. - 9 p.m. Funeral Mass on Saturday, May 10th, at 9:30 a.m. from St. Patrick's Church. Interment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the Diabetes Association or a charity of one's choice.
