COSTELLO, Geraldine Mary (Sullivan)— Left this world as she lived her life, gently and peacefully, on Sunday morning at her home in St. John’s in her 73 year, she touched so many and was admired for her courage and her acceptance of her illness for the past 25 years. She leaves her loving and caring husband of 53 years, Gerard (Gerry), and her ever present family and numerous friends. She will be missed very much by son Tony and wife Regina of St. John’s, daughter Sabrina in Vancouver, and daughter Ella and husband Darrell Gilliard of St. John’s. She was a beloved Nanny to treasured grandchildren Heather, Deirdre and Emily Costello, Rory O’Brien and Ryan and Natalie Gilliard. Born in Riverhead, Harbour Grace to Edward and Bridget Sullivan, she also leaves behind her sisters and brothers: Alice (Bill Short), Mary O’Brien, Brendan (Shirley), Margaret (Paul Otis), Edward (Sharon), Gertrude (Greg McFatridge), Francis (Marie), Bridget (Jim Lynch) She was predeceased by her brother Joseph (Vivian). Visitation at Carnell’s Funeral Home, Freshwater Road on Monday, Feb. 9 from 7 to 9 p.m. and on Tuesday, Feb. 10 from 2 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, Feb. 11 at 9:30 a.m. from Corpus Christi Church, Waterford Bridge Road.
