‘Sam’ Harold Hill, 87, of Upper Economy, passed away Sunday, April 6, 2008 in the QE II Health Science Centre, Halifax Infirmary Site, Halifax. Born on a farm in Economy, Sam was raised by his grandfather Wilbert Hill. Harold was a veteran of the Second World War, serving overseas with the Forestry Corp. He is survived by his wife Virginia (Schultz) Hill; son Brian Robert Hill (Arlene) of Brampton, Ont.; grandchildren, Chad (Shannon), Ryan, Craig; great-grandson Zachary; sister-in-law Irene Hill of Canning; nephew Peter Hill of Canning. He was predeceased by a brother Lloyd K. Hill. No visitation by family request. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, April 10 at 2 p.m. in Economy Cemetery, Economy with Rev. Florence Antle-Brison officiating. Donations in Sam’s memory may be made to the SP.C.A. or to a charity of choice. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Mattatall~Varner Funeral Home, Truro.
