Annie Viola (Munroe) Nelson, 83, formerly of Pleasant Valley, residing in Truro, passed away Friday, Feb. 8, 2008 in Colchester Regional Hospital, Truro. She was the daughter of the late James and Susan (Thompson) Munroe. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother whose greatest love was her family with whom she loved spending time. She is survived by her daughters, Lois (Arnold) Fielding, Elizabeth (Richard) Bomford, both of Hamilton, Ont., Beatrice (Alfred) Shaw, Valerie Nelson, Bonnie (Nick) Boyd, all of Truro; sons, Jim (Carolyn), Pleasant Valley, Ronald, Red Deer, Alta., Tommy (Doreen), Hilden, Donald (Darlene), Truro; 25 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren; sister, Hazel McCulloch, Truro. She was predeceased by her husband Walter, son Rupert, granddaughter Lisa Nelson; half-sister Ada McCullum. Visitation will be on Saturday, Feb. 9 from 7 to 9 p.m. with a funeral service Sunday, Feb. 10 at 2 p.m., both in Colchester Community Funeral Home, 512 Willow St., Truro with Rev. Larry Harrison officiating. Interment in the spring will be at Pine Grove Cemetery, Stewiacke. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association.
