Bernard Lawrence Crowe, 68, Truro, passed away Saturday, Jan. 26, 2008 at Victoria General ICU, Halifax. Bernard was born in East New Annan, Feb. 5, 1939, the son of the late Lionel and Carrie (MacCallum) Crowe. Bernard was known for his kindness, selflessness and non-judgmental attitude towards everyone. He was employed at Clarence’s Feed Mill until retirement. He enjoyed talking about “Old Times,” driving his truck, listening to old-time music, travelling and spending time at Five Houses. He is survived by his wife, Betty Jane (Ramsay); brothers, Lloyd (Betty) Crowe, Clarence Crowe; sisters, Hazel (Brent) Reader, Eileen Crowe; step-children, Stephen (Lynn) Hoeg, Rick Hoeg, Paula (Rob) MacPherson, Darren (Patti) Moore; grandchildren, Brittany, Alex, Rielle, Lienna, Courtney, Josh and Maxwell; many nieces and nephews. Bernard was predeceased by sisters, Doreen Crowe, Faye Steeves; brother, Lyman; sister-in-laws, Leona and Jane Crowe; mother and father-in-laws, Dorothy and Max Ramsay. Cremation has taken place. A reception to celebrate Bernard’s life will be held Saturday, Feb. 2 from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Salvation Army on Outram St., Truro. Donations in his memory may be made to the Salvation Army. “Death broke the link that joined us And broke my heart in two But I never had a greater gift Than the years I shared with you.”
