Brian Andrew McCarthy, age 60, of Lower Sackville, N.S. passed away suddenly Tuesday, Nov. 13 at the QEII. Born in Nelson, Miramichi, N.B., he is survived by his wife Isobel (MacAllister), daughter Megan of Halifax, sons, Neal (Jenny) of Dartmouth, and Evan (Kelly) of Enfield, grandchildren, Owen and Brooke, brothers, Rev. Douglas S.J. of Guelph, Colin (Jayne) of Lethbridge, Timothy (Michaeleen) and Richard of Nelson. Predeceased by parents Stephen and Anna (English). Brian retired as an RCMP sergeant. He had been stationed in Ottawa, Antigonish, Truro, Inverness, Amherst and Halifax. He enjoyed gardening, cooking and had an interest in classic cars. Visitation will be held Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Atlantic Funeral Home, 125 Sackville Dr., Lower Sackville and on Friday, Nov. 16, 7 to 9 p.m. at Northumberalnd Funeral Home, Newcastle.
