Carlin John "Johnny" Clyke

Carlin John "Johnny" Clyke, (1947-2007) 60, Salmon River, passed away peacefully Saturday, July 7 2007, at the Colchester Regional Hospital in the presence of his loving family. Born in Truro, John was the son of the late Walter and Dorothy (Hamilton) Clyke. He was employed at Crossley Carpet Mills Ltd. for 34 years. John was an active member of the union and a friend to all. He also worked for Brookfield Creamery and the Colchester Regional Library. He was a longtime member of the Truro Horseman's Club, of which he was past president and former coach of the mixed softball team. Johnny was a volunteer at the Truro Boys and Girls Club for many years. He coached the Red Devils ball team and played and coached hockey. Johnny liked to travel, camp and enjoyed time with his wife, children and grandchildren. He will be forever loved and sadly missed. He is survived by wife, Patricia (Crews) Tuff; son, Gordie, Truro; daughters, Zina and Tina (Jason MacLellan), both of Truro; stepdaughter, Christina Tuff, ON; grandchildren, Brandee, Michael and Nicholas; sisters, Evelyn (Charles) Bordon, Truro, Grace Gero of Shilo, MB, Barbara and Marion of Toronto, Vivian (Ron) Mingo, Kathleen (Rodney) Morse, Shirley (Howard) Mahar, Geraldine and Margaret, all of Truro; brothers Richard, Darrell (Anne), George (Lynn), Truro, Tom (Eileen), Halifax, Benjamin (Viola), Ottawa, Frederick, Robert (Cora), Joseph, Toronto, as well as many nieces and nephews. John was predeceased by his brother Walter (Jack). Visitation will be Wednesday, July 11 from 12 to 2 p.m. at the Colchester Community Funeral Home, 512 Willow St., Truro, to be followed by the funeral service at 2 p.m. with Pastor Brian Johnston officiating.
