Daniel Alphonse Caufield, 95, of Glades Lodge, Halifax, passed away Thursday, Jan. 11, 2007, in the Lodge. He was born in Springhill. Daniel was a barber for many years, working in Tatamagouche and also the United States. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family. He is survived by many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, the former Greta Marie Terris; son Daniel; several brothers and sisters. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Mattatall Funeral Home, Truro. No visitation by request. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday at 2 p.m. in the Immaculate Conception Church, Truro. Father Ronald Cairns will officiate with a reception to follow in Campbell Hall. Burial will follow in Robie Street Cemetery, Truro. Donations in memory may be made to a charity of choice.
