Elizabeth Fraser MacLeod, 94, Cedarstone Enhanced Care, Truro, passed away peacefully Sunday, March 2, 2008 in the home. Born Nov. 4, 1913 in Eureka, Pictou County, she was the daughter of the late William and Emily (Fraser) MacLeod. Elizabeth moved to Truro in 1917 where she attended school and later received her diploma in Fine Arts from Mount Allison University. She was a retired art teacher who taught in private schools for girls in Quebec, St. Helen’s, Kings Hall and also at the P.G.B.G. Montreal for 25 years. She joined Saint Andrew’s United Church, Truro, as a teenager and she was a member of the UCW, Unit II. She also loved the experience of traveling and seeing the world, painting, drawing and sewing. Elizabeth was predeceased by her brother, A. Gordon MacLeod and his wife, Dorothy Heather MacLeod. She is survived by cousins in Vancouver, B.C. (MacLeod side) and Pictou County (Fraser side). Special thanks are extended to the staff of Cedarstone Enhanced Care, Earth Angels and to Elaine Curry and Marion Stoddart for their wonderful care. Arrangements have been entrusted to Mattatall ~ Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young St., Truro, where the funeral service will be held 3 p.m. Thursday, Reverend Jay Ettinger officiating. Reception to follow in the funeral home. Spring interment in Robie Street Cemetery. Family flowers only.
