Ian Munroe MacDonald CD1, 56, Prince St., Truro, passed away Thursday, July 19, 2007, in the Colchester Regional Hospital, Truro. Born in Truro, he was the youngest child of the late Roy and Virginia (Clayton) MacDonald. Ian served 24 years in the Canadian Armed Forces as a radio operator, retiring in 1995. He greatly enjoyed country music, playing piano and dobro. Wood working consumed most of his time as did Nascar on weekends. He was a member of The Royal Canadian Legion, Branch # 26, Truro, as well a 102 Colchester Wing RCAFA. He is survived by his wife Bea; daughters, Sandra and Tina; son, Derrick; grandson, Micah; sister, Marilyn; brother, Wayne. He was predeceased by brother, Donald. No visitation by request. The Royal Canadian Legion Branch # 26, Truro conducted a tribute service in Ian's memory on Tuesday, July 24, at 2 p.m. in the Mattatall Funeral Home, 55 Young St., Truro. A reception followed in the Royal Canadian Legion Branch # 26, Truro, legion lounge. Memorial donations may be made to the Royal Canadian Legion Branch # 26, Truro, Poppy Fund.
