Bernice Viola Borden

Bernice Viola Borden, 95, Truro, loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully at Colchester Regional Hospital on Sunday Feb. 11, 2007. Born in New Glasgow, she was the daughter of the late Charity Ann (Williams) and Fred Borden. Bernice was a home maker all of her life, taught Sunday school and volunteered as a nursery school teacher at Cornwallis Street Baptist Church in Halifax. She was a caring and giving person and loved to laugh. She is survived by her daughters, (Marion) Beth (Coleman) and Laura, both of Montreal; Theresa, Ottawa; Freda, Sydney; Donna, Guysborough; sons, Charles (Evelyn) Truro; George (Rose), Montreal, Jim (Della) Dartmouth; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Bernice was predeceased by her husband Edward Marshall Borden and daughter Patricia Joyce Borden. She will be sadly missed by her family and friends. We loved her, but God loved her best. Visitation will on Tuesday, Feb. 13, 2 - 4 p.m. and 7- 9 p.m. in the Colchester Community Funeral Home, 512 Willow St., Truro. A funeral service will be held Wednesday 14th at 2 p.m. in the John Calvin Christian Reformed Church, 169 Glenwood Dr., Truro, N.S. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Colchester Regional Hospital Palliative Care Unit or a charity of choice. Interment in the spring will be at Robie Street Cemetery, Truro.
