Brenda Marlene Elizabeth MacKenzie (Rutherford), 56, Brule Corner, Tatamagouche, NS. It is with deep sadness that Brenda's family announces her peaceful passing surrounded by family on January 27, 2009, at Willow Lodge, Tatamagouche, NS, after a courageous 28 year battle with Multiple Sclerosis. Born and raised in Bible Hill, NS, she was the dearly beloved wife of Larry MacKenzie; loving and caring mother of Lisa MacKenzie (Alexandre Roger) and Adam MacKenzie (Lori MacKenzie); proud grandmother of Marley Joy MacKenzie; wonderful daughter of the late Charles and Dorothy Rutherford; and youngest sibling of Rick and Bill Rutherford. She will be happily remembered by her many friends, aunts, uncles, sister-in-laws, brother-in-laws, nieces, nephews, and caregivers. She moved to Dartmouth after marrying Larry at the age of 21. She initially worked for the Royal Bank and supported Larry as he pursued his career in the car business. She was fortunate enough to be able to stay at home and raise her family, spend summers at Brule Beach and take wonderful business trips with Larry. Brenda also enjoyed working at the dealership part-time as Lisa and Adam became older. Brenda will not be forgotten. She will be remembered for the loyal, sincere person that she was and instilling these virtues in her children. The family of Brenda wishes to send a heartfelt thank you to Betty Matheson, all the staff at the Willow Lodge Home for Special Care and Dr. Moss for giving Brenda excellent care and bedside manner over the past eight years. Larry would also like to thank all friends and family who supported and visited Brenda, especially daughter Lisa and son Adam, who visited faithfully every week. Visitation will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. on Wednesday, January 28th, in Colchester Community Funeral Home, 512 Willow Street, Truro, where the funeral service followed by a reception will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, January 29, 2009, with Rev.
