Christene Murdock. On April 8, 2007, Margaret Christene Murdock (nee Hunter), born on July 24, 1950 in Truro, N. S., completed her life's journey at her home in St. Albert, Alta. at the age of 56 years. Christene is remembered for her graciousness, dignity and a joy of the adventure of living. She devoted her life to her family and friendships. Her smile lit up any room she walked in. Her friendships were deeply felt. She loved the art of dance and celebrated the creative arts in her family and the many children she came to know wherever she went. Christene brought full meaning to the life of her husband, Dr. Alan Murdock, whom she married at St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church in Ottawa on April 28, 1979. Her spirit lives on through her children Jennifer (Toronto), Heather (St. Albert) and Andrew (New York City), her mother Verna Hunter and sister Karen Archibald of Truro. She is remembered with abiding affection by nieces and nephews across Canada including Suzanne (Gregory) Perry, Debbie (Richard) Roode, and Anthony Archibald of Truro and Michael (Christine Ingram) Archibald of East Passage, N.S. She abided in the love of her brothers and sisters-in-law; Wayne and Janet Murdock, Bancroft, Ont.; Myrna Fento, Nepean, Ont.; Linda and Michael Kolodziejczyk, Victoria B.C.; and Joan Thompson, London, Ont. Christene is predeceased by her father George Hunter and brothers-in-law Ross Archibald and Gordon Fenton. Her family extends their most profound thanks to the many friends of all ages who have supported and cared for Christene and us. To Dr. Katia Tonkin, Dr. Diane Severin, the staff and volunteers of the Cross Cancer Institute, Edmonton and to Dr. Deborah Rowand, St. Albert Home Care and St. Albert Help Society, we offer our sincere appreciation for their dedication and caring support. Visitation will be held on Sunday from 7-9 p.m.; memorial service on Monday at 2 p.m., both in Colchester Community Funeral Home, 512 Willow St., Truro with Rev. David MacNaughton officiating.
