Passed peacefully away on Monday, May 12, 2008 in the presence of his family at the HSC, aged 70. Predeceased by his parents Lemuel and Margaret Simmons. Leaving to mourn his loving wife of 40 years Maisie (Hodder); daughters: Trish Simmons (partner Lew Piercey), Elaine Coffin (David) and son Bob Simmonds (DD); grandchildren: Michael and Alex Coffin, Kosta Noel and Nicholas and Derek Simmons; brother Dr. Jim Simmons (Lorraine); sisters: Ruby Rowe, Doris Bishop and Nellie Whelan (Vernon); brother-in-law Tom Hodder (Cathy); sisters-in-law: Effie Pelley, Mary Payne, Charlotte Follett, Phyllis Smith (Unice), Jean Waterman and Mary Hodder (partner Ches Penney); special neighbors: Ivy Penney and Clinton Cousins; also a large circle of extended family and friends. Resting at Carnell's Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road with visitation from 10 a.m. - 9 p.m. on Wednesday, May 14, 2008 and 10 a.m. - 12 noon on Thursday, May 15, 2008. Funeral service to take place on Thursday, May 15, 2008 at 2 p.m. from the Carnell Memorial Chapel. Intrment at the Non-Denominational Cemetery in Paradise. No flowers by request.
