Doris Elizabeth Brown, 88, of Bible Hill, passed away peacefully, Tuesday, Aug. 28, 2007, at Val's Rest Home, Hilden. Born in Brookside, she was the daughter of the late Percy and Jean (McNutt) McNutt. She was a life-long resident of Truro and Bible Hill, a member of St. David's United Church, and a former member of several seniors groups. She was a homemaker and loved gardening, antiques and her cherished dogs. She is survived by her devoted and loving son, Wendell, dear daughter-in-law, Judy, beautiful granddaughters, Darla (Peter) Somerville, Shelley (Grant) Dayton, and Kerry Ellen Brown; great-grandchildren, Parker and Tyler Somerville, Myles and Madison Dayton; half-sisters, Shirley Edwards and Ruth Sutherland; half-brothers, Walter, Ronald and Gordon. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Kenneth; precious daughter, Vonna; half-sisters, Dorothy Wyer and Jean Weir; half-brother, Frederick. Cremation has taken place under the direction of the Mattatall Funeral Home, 55 Young St., Truro. No visitation or funeral service by Doris's request. A graveside service and interment will be held on Friday, Sept. 14, 2007 at 2 p.m., in the Crossroads Cemetery, Valley, with Rev. Ebbie Snow officiating. A reception to follow at St. David's Church hall, Bible Hill. Donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
