Edna I. Cox, 87, Val's Rest Home, Hilden, passed away peacefully Saturday, Feb. 16, 2008 in the home. Born Aug. 13, 1920 in Dean Settlement, she was a daughter of the late William and Clara (Hamilton) Lemmon. Edna was a member of the Jehovah Witnesses. She thoroughly enjoyed travelling and her smile, outgoing personality and kindness brought joy to everyone who was fortunate to know her. She was a caregiver and homemaker and looked after many people during her life and that care was reciprocated by the wonderful staff of West Side Villa and Val's Rest Home. Edna is survived by her son, Herman (Patsy) Lemmon, Dean; sisters, Mary (Russell) Henley, Dean; Vera (Russell) Rudolph, Little Liscombe; brothers, Luther (Audrey) Lemmon, Ontario; Doug (Beulah) Lemmon, Fredericton; caregiver and niece, Kathy Delaney (Cyril McNamara), Greenfield; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Charles "Charlie"; daughter, Sylvia Bellew; brothers, Clifford, Earl, Carl, Harold and Lawrence. Arrangements have been entrusted to Mattatall Funeral Home, 55 Young St., Truro, where Edna's family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m. Tuesday and where the funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, Mr. Greg MacDonald officiating. Reception to follow in the funeral home. Spring interment in Riverside Cemetery, Upper Stewiacke. Family flowers only. If so desired, donations in Edna's memory to Canadian Cancer Society are welcomed.
