Edward Raymond Lake

Edward Raymond Lake, 67, of Truro, passed away suddenly, Sunday, Dec. 21, 2008 at home. Born in Smithtown, N.B., he was a son of the late James and Emily (Pugsley) Lake. Ed loved to fish and was an agitator at playing crib. He loved to tinker and putter around with things. He enjoyed bluegrass music and enjoyed attending the bluegrass festivals. He is survived by sons Tony R. (Bonnie), Stephen (Anna), both of Hampton, N.B., Terry J. (Leanne), Cheverie, Edward “Ted” (Cherie), Damascus, N.B., brother Harold of Cambridge, Hants County, sister Helen Wilcox (Grant), Cambridge, Hants County; several grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by brothers Arthur, Ronnie; sister Betty. Visitation will be 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday and funeral service Saturday, Dec. 27 at 11 a.m., in Mattatall~Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young St., Truro. Rev. Burton Hooper will officiate with burial to follow in Highhead Cemetery, Cambridge at 2 p.m. Donations in memory may be made to the Nova Scotia Heart and Stroke Fund.
