June 22, 1936 - Oct. 17, 2008 Mrs. Ella J. (Paris) Sands, 72, Vacaville, Cali. died Oct. 17, 2008 at Sutter Solano Medical Center. She was born June 22, 1936 in Truro, N.S. Ella worked for 10 years at the Vacaville Unified School District and was a loving homemaker for 46 years. She was involved with Shiloh Baptist Church and the American Baptist Women’s Missionary Board. She is survived by her husband, S.S.M. Alonzo C. Sands (U.S. Air Force, Ret.); daughter Nina Richardson of Sacramento; sons Rondo Sands and Thomas Sands, both of Sacramento; sister Nettie Mills of Toronto; brothers Albert (Doris), Alex (Robin) and “Dunnie” Paris, all of Truro, Herbert (Jean) of New Glasgow and 10 grandchildren. She was predeceased in death by her parents Dave and Nina Paris, two sisters Patience and Edna, three brothers Tom, Romie and Clyde. Rev. D. Terry E. Long will officiate the service on Friday, Oct. 24 at Shiloh Baptist Church, California.
