Elsie Viola Parris, 84, Truro, passed away peacefully Monday, Dec. 1, 2008, in Colchester Regional Hospital, Truro with her loving family by her side. Born in Guysborough, she was the only daughter of the late Allan and Louisa (Byard) Parris. Elsie was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She was a long standing member of St. John’s Anglican Church, Truro and a member of the Ladies Auxiliary and choir at the church. Elsie will be sadly missed by all her family and friends. Surviving are daughters Deborah Parris, Toronto, Brenda Armoush, Toronto, Shawn (Bruce) Munro, Truro; son William “Billy” (Ruth)., Truro; five grandchildren, Omar, Jonathan, Kelsie, Louisa and Latisha. Elsie was predeceased by a brother, Roy. Memorial service will be 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 5 in St. John’s Anglican Church, 23 Church St., Truro, Rev. Lori Ramsey officiating with burial at a later date in Terrace Hill Cemetery, Truro. Donations in memory may be made to the Colchester Regional Hospital Foundation, Palliative Care or St. John’s Anglican Church.
