She graduated from Swift Current Comprehensive High School in 1974. Kathy spent two years at Steinbach Bible Institute, MB and graduated with a diploma of Sacred Music minor in 1976. Kathy experienced an incredible year of spiritual growth when she traveled with the Liberation Singers across the U.S. In 1984, she graduated from the University of Saskatchewan with a Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance, with Great Distinction. She taught music in a studio and later worked for Sask Tel in Saskatoon for ten years. Kathy married Dean Matheson on November 17, 1990. They moved to Calgary, AB, shortly after. Kathy\'s first job took her to the German & Music Departments at the University of Calgary. Later she entered the Oil & Gas field and worked as a Records Analyst for TransCanada Pipelines, Alliance Pipelines, and most recently EnCana. In February of 2008, Kathy was diagnosed with ALS. The illness progressed rapidly forcing her to go to half-time employment in April and by August she was no longer able to perform her tasks. Leaving her job was an incredible disappointment as was her inability to play her baby-grand piano. By November she was no longer able to walk or talk. She leaves to mourn her loving husband, Dean; parents Jacob and Agnes Fehr of Swift Current, SK; siblings Jim (Carol) Fehr of Medicine Hat, AB, Robert (Elsie) Fehr of Langley, BC, Harold (Sandra) Friesen of Calgary, AB, Jerry Fehr of Nicaragua, Bob (Brenda) Penner of Arborg, MB and Susan Zanidean of Swift Current, SK; parents-in-law Al and Yvette Matheson of Winnipeg, MB; sisters-in-law Michele (Randy) Yablonski of Calgary, AB, Loree Matheson of Ottawa, ON, and Sher (Jeff) Fitchett of Ottawa, ON; as well as many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
