WELLBROCK - Muriel Edith, age 88 of Herbert Heritage Manor, Herbert, SK, passed away January 19, 2009, at the Herbert & District Integrated Health Facility. The memorial service was held at 2:00 PM, January 23, 2009, from the First United Church with Christine Ciona officiating. The organist was Marilyn King. The eulogy was read by Sue Beverly. Honorary pallbearers were all of those who shared in her life. The interment service was held at Memory Gardens Cemetery, Swift Current, SK. Muriel is survived by her daughter Eleanor (Jim) McDowell of Lac Pelletier, SK, and their family; sons Al (Kate) Wellbrock of Red Cliff, AB, and their family, Kenn (Shirley) of Walkerton, ON, and their family; son-in-law, Harold Hilts of Windsor, ON, and family; sister-in-law Phyllis King of Herbert, SK, and brothers in law Lloyd Wellbrock and Doug Lamb a sister in law Hazel Lamb and many nieces and nephews and their families. She was predeceased by her parents William and Emily King, daughter Gloria Hilts in 1975, sisters Louise Young (Walter), Alma Hickling (Russell), brothers Willard King (Mabel), Walter King and Delbert King (Ruth). Mom was born on December 21, 1920 on a farm near Ponteix, SK, and went to McKnight School. She liked to attend dances and functions at Glenvern Hall. Growing up she had a favorite horse named \"Rooster\" which she enjoyed very much. Mom lived in the Heritage Towers in Swift Current, SK, for 21 years, where she enjoyed playing cards with her sister Louise and many friends. She also, liked spending time at Lac Pelletier. Mom enjoyed crocheting and knitting her afghans of which many people were the lucky recipients. In later years, as her eyesight began to fail, she enjoyed listening to her country and gospel music and books on tapes. She moved to Herbert Heritage Manor during the summer of 2006, where she met and enjoyed the company of many friends. Mom loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them. She will be sadly missed by all those who knew and loved her.
