GEORGE STOBBS It is with deep sadness that the family of George Humphrey Stobbs announce the passing of their father on March 18, 2008 with his children and grandchildren by his side. Dad now rests in peace with his loving wife Mildred. He leaves to mourn his 7 children; Carol (Ian) Pryznyk of Birch Hills and their children Shawn (Ivy), Boyd (Kim), Moniqua (David) Jones; Bonnie (Dave) Pike of Winnipeg and their children Jennifer (Jeff) Diehl, Kathleen (Carey) Storozinski, Murray (Darlene) Pike; Gary (Sharon) of Abbotsford, B.C. and their children Jason (Shari), Hayley, Nicole (Gavyn) Dudding; Robert (Marie) of Regina and their children Greg (Tracy), Michael (Jan), Jon (Lana), Tim (Rhea); Larry (Linda) of Indianapolis, USA and their children Nathan & Clayton; Ken (Susan) of Brancepeth and their children Luke & Sam; Bev (John) Glasscock of Prince Albert and their children Chris(Becky), Matthew & Ashley; and 30 great grandchildren; sisters Agnes (Bill) Crawford, Margaret (Tom) Tapley; sisters in law June Stobbs, Charlotte (Ken) Gardener, Helen and Sylvia Armer. As well as many nieces, nephews, close friends and neighbors. Dad served in WW2 from November 1942 to September 1943. Dad and Mom went on to farm and raise their family in the Brancepeth District until 1977 when they moved to Birch Hills. They owned and operated the M&G Family Shopping Center in Birch Hills. They retired in 1979 and went on to see the world together. Dad was a life time member of the Masonic Lodge and the Order of the Eastern Star. He was actively involved in the Anglican Church. Dad enjoyed his curling and golf. He was always by mom's side helping her with her crafts. His favorite pastime was enjoying the company of his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. In lieu of tributes donations can be made to the Holy Trinity Church, Brancepeth.
