GATIN - Rolande Marie (nee Beaulac) January 16, 1936 - April 5, 2008 It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Rolande Gatin of Calgary, Saturday, April 5, 2008 at the age of 72 years. She was ready to meet her God in heaven and be reunited with those she loved! Her faith was strong and her love endless, and she will be greatly missed by all who came in contact with her. She was a loving mother to Martin and Pam Gatin of Calgary, and Michael (Peggi-Lynn) of Prince Albert, and grandmother to Desiree, Jaz and Devereaux. She is survived by three brothers - Joe (Margaret), Ivan, Albert (Diane), and four sisters - Gisele (Yoland), Cecil (Roger), Henriette (Arthur), and Anita, and numerous nieces and nephews. Rolande was predeceased by her husband, Albert, her parents, Eva & Raoul Beaulac, brothers Archille, George, Lucien, sister Grace, and numerous brother & sister in-laws, nieces and nephews. Rolande was born in Eldred, Saskatchewan on January 16, 1936. She loved going to school but at an early age left school to help on the farm and take care of her younger siblings along with the young children of many relatives. She moved to St. Hubert, SK. to work in the nursing home where she met and married Albert Gatin on July 8, 1958. After moving to Regina, SK they had their 3 children. Many moves later, they made their home in Prince Albert, SK where Rolande was always active in her parish, helped those in need and enjoyed her times at Candle Lake. Rolande lived in Prince Albert until 2005, when she moved to Calgary, AB to live in the retirement community of Whitehorn Village. She adapted well to her new home. On behalf of her family, we would like to thank the staff and residents of Whitehorn Village for the care and support Mom received over these past few years. She loved it there! A Prayer Service will be held at Leyden's Chapel of Remembrance (corner of 17th Avenue & 2nd Street SW, Calgary) on April 10, 2008 at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held at St. John Baptiste Catholic Church in Debden, SK on April 19, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. At Rolande's request, in lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made directly to the Heart & Stroke Foundation (100-119 14 Street NW Calgary, Alberta, T2N 1Z6) or St. Vincent De Paul Society.
