PANTSIS - George June 15, 1925 - April 22, 2008 Tuesday, April 22, 2008, Mr. George Pantsis beloved father and grandfather (pappou) passed away at the Herb Bassett Home at the age of 82 with his family by his side. George was born in Thessaloniki, Greece on June 15, 1925. He also served in the Greek Army during World War II before immigrating to Canada (Montreal, Quebec) in 1956. He then met and married his wife of 35 years, Maria (Mitsopoulos) Pantsis and together they had a daughter Ria. In 1982, George relocated his family to Prince Albert and operated the greek "Mediterranean Family Restaurant" before he retired in 1985. George is survived by his loving daughter Ria Pantsis (Rick) of Prince Albert, SK; his very special grandsons Michael and Khristopher Kalika of Prince Albert, SK; two sisters Kristina (George) Konstadinidis of Montreal, QC and Froso (Apostolis) Deligiannis of Greece; brother Thomas (Fotini) Pantsis of Queens, NY; sisters-in-law Voula Mitsopoulos of Montreal, QC, Sophia Mitsopoulos of Montreal, QC, Anna Mitsopoulos of Greece and Vassiliki Pantsis of Montreal, QC; brother-in-law Dimitrios (Zoey) Mitsopoulos of Montreal, QC and many other nephews, nieces and close friends. He was predeceased by his wife Maria; a granddaughter Kristie Marie; his parents Savvas and Maria Pantsis; a brother Nicholas; sisters-in-law Tassia Lambrakos and Helen Mitsopoulos; brothers-in-law Illyas Mitsopoulos, George Mitsopoulos, John Mitsopoulos Vassilis Mitsopoulos and Stavros Mitsopoulos. Prayer Service will be held at 7:00 pm on Wednesday, April 30, 2008 at Gray's Funeral Chapel, 575 - 28th Street West, Prince Albert, SK. Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 1, 2008 at the Greek Orthodox Church, 684 - 3rd Avenue East, Prince Albert, SK with Father John Nikolaou officiating. Interment will be at the Prince Albert Memorial Gardens. Officers and Members of the Royal Canadian Legion will confer Veterans Honours. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.grays.ca.
