Passed peacefully away at the Wilkinson Memorial Health Centre on Friday, May 16, Joy Button of Old Perlican, aged 54 years. Leaving to mourn husband, Leonard; three sons: David, Chris (Emily) and Stephen; mother: Joyce Stanford (St. John's); grandmother: Annie Maude Avery (St. John's); three sisters: Suzanne (Derek Lacey) (St. John's); Myrle Stanford (St. John's); Betty (Gary Matheson), St. Catherine's, Ont.; three brothers: Don (Audrey) Stanford, Old Perlican; David (Frances) Stanford (Grates Cove) ; Max (Beverley) Stanford (Whitby, Ont.) ; brother-in-law Wayne (Linda) Button, (St. John's); also a large number of other relatives and friends. Resting at Hopkins Funeral Home, Old Perlican until 12 noon Monday. Funeral service to follow on Monday at 2:30 p.m. from St. Andrews By The Sea United Church, Old Perlican. Interment to follow at the Gospel Hall Cemetery, Old Perlican. In lieu of flowers, as an expression of sympathy, donations in her memory may be made to Daffodil Place or the Dr. H. Bliss Murphy Cancer Treatment Centre.
