MARGARET O'Brien
(May 10th, 1908 May 18, 2008) Mrs. Maggie slipped quietly into the arms of God at her home in Cape Broyle after a very brief illness on Sunday, May 18th, 2008 at the age of 100 years. She was predeceased by her parents Edward and Catherine Coady, eight brothers, Frank, Jim, John, Joe, Charlie, Mike, Willie and Tom, two sisters, Mary Doody and Kitty Manfre, her husband Thomas (1954), two daughters — Mary Stoyles (1995) Gertie Simmonds (2001) two sons — Edward (2003) Cha (2006). Giving God thanks for her wonderful life are her three sons — James (Bern) Cape Broyle, Richie (Jocelyn) Mount Pearl, Robbie (Trudy) Brampton, Ont. Her five daughters, Jose Whelan (John), Marge Carew, Lil Hawkins (Terence), Marlie Molloy (Leo) all of Cape Broyle and Cathy Fleming (Frank, deceased) St. John's, daughter-in-law Lucy O'Brien. She is also survived by 50 grandchildren — four of whom held a special place in her heart — Tommy O'Brien (Dinah), Goulds, Darlene Howe (Dave) Columbus, Ont., Cheryl Bonia (Jason) St. John's and Nancy Ryan (Jody) Ferryland. Seventy-nine great-grandchildren and nine great-great grandchildren. Sisters, Bridie O'Keefe, Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, U.S.A., and Elizabeth Coady, New Jersey, U.S.A., sister-in-law, Bridget Hynes, St. Patrick's Mercy Home, St. John's. Also saddened by her passing are two very special people in her life — Evelyn O'Brien and Don Carew, her many nieces and nephews, extended family and friends, her wonderful home support workers and the many people from the community who came to her home every night to play cards. Remains resting at Ryan's Funeral Home, Bay Bulls. Visitation Tuesday, May 20 from 2 p.m to 9 p.m, Wednesday, May 21 from 10 a.m. - 12 noon. Mass of Christian burial from Immaculate Conception Church, Cape Broyle, on Wednesday, May 21, at 1 p.m. Interment at the old Cemetery, Cape Broyle.She lives with us in memory and will forever more
