(Bessie) Passed peacefully away at the Carbonear General Hospital in Carbonear on May 17, 2008, Elizabeth (Bessie) Whalen of Spaniard's Bay in her 91st year. Predeceased by husband William, infant son Gerald, son-in-law John Dawson. Left with fond and loving memories daughters; Eileen Dawson of Bay Roberts: Agnes (Bill) Butler of Bay Roberts; Alice Dunne (Wayne Luther) of Bay Roberts. Sons: Jack (Jean) Whalen of St. John's; Bill (Frances) Whelan of Spaniard's Bay; Ray (Maureen) Whelan of St. John's. Thirteen grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and her friends at the Callingwood Downs and the Pentecostal Citizens Homes, and a large circle of relatives and friends. Resting at Young's Funeral Home in Spaniard's Bay. The funeral mass will take place Tuesday at 2 p.m., May 20, at St. Anne's Roman Catholic Church, Spaniard's Bay with interment to follow at the Roman Catholic Cemetery, Spaniard's Bay. In her memory, flowers accepted or donations may be made to the charity of one's choice. Visitation at Young's Funeral Home, Spaniard's Bay, Sunday May 18 from 7-10 p.m., Monday May 19 from 10 a.m. - 12 noon, 2-5 p.m. and 7-10 p.m. and Tuesday May 20 from 10 a.m. - 12 noon.
