RIVERTON - Alice Lemaire, 92, Valley View Villa Riverton, passed away September 26, 2007 at the Villa. Born in Inverness she was a daughter of the late Joe and Hermine Van Volsen. Alice was a longtime resident of Stellarton and had been a guest at Valley View Villa for the past five years. She was a member of Sharon St. John United Church, Stellarton. Surviving are son, Joseph Edward (Mary), Stellarton; daughter, Clara MacDonald, Trenton; grandchildren, Kevin MacDonald, Alice Evans and Wendy Carde; 6 great-grandchildren; sister, Martha, Ontario. She was predeceased by her husband Louis, brothers: Joe, Henry, Marcel, Ferdinand and Arthur; sisters, Simone, Rose, and Hermine; grandson, Louis Jr. Cremation has taken place. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m., today in the H.C. MacQuarrie Funeral Home, Stellarton. A public memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday in the H.C. MacQuarrie Funeral Home Chapel, Stellarton, with Rev. John Roy officiating. Burial will be in Brookside Cemetery. Donations in her memory may be made to Valley View Villa, Sharon St. John United Church, Stellarton, or the Nova Scotia Heart and Stroke Fund.
