PICTOU LANDING - Angus Sheldon "Punny" Campbell, age 76, of Pictou Landing, passed away Thursday, June 21, 2007, in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow. Born in Trenton, he was a son of the late John Angus Campbell and Mary Olive (Murray) (Campbell) MacDonald. He was a retired millwright supervisor at Hawker Siddeley. He was a member of Bethel Presbyterian Church, Pictou Landing. He was a member of the Canadian Boxing Hall of Fame and the Pictou County Sports Heritage Hall of Fame. He was an avid gardener and hockey fan. He is survived by daughters, Debra Spalding (Robert Thorne), Granton; Sheri (Calvin Hayman), Pictou Landing; sons: George (Marilyn), Trenton; Doug (Trudy), Bedford; Bruce (Dolly), Pictou Landing; grandchildren: Tanya Campbell; Brendon, Sean Campbell; Kevin, Jason (Bridget), Joseph (Jody) Moser; Kyle, Anne-Marie Campbell; Dustin Bonvie; several great-grandchildren; sister, Joan, Pictou; brother, Donald (Carol) MacDonald, Lower Barney's River; special friend, Mary Lennon; sisters-in-law: Dorothy Campbell, New Glasgow; Kathleen (Bert) Gordon; Dorothy (Foster) Jenkins, both of Pictou Landing; Anna (Robert) Russell, Little Harbour; brother-in-law, Doug MacKay, Pictou Landing. He was predeceased by his wife, the former Shirley MacKay, step-father, Angus MacDonald; brother, Stewart. Visitation Friday 7-9 p.m. and Saturday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in the R.H. Porter Funeral Home, Trenton. Funeral service 2 p.m. Sunday in Bethel Presbyterian Church with Rev. Joanne Vines officiating. Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery. Donations in his memory may be made to Bethel Presbyterian Church.
