Westville Road - It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of our special mother Bertha Clarissa Ormrod, Westville Road, on Saturday, October 13, 2007, in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow. Bertha was born in New Glasgow, January 24, 1927, a daughter of the late Ronald and Mabel (Ryder) MacDonald. She had delivered special telegrams for the CNR and later briefly worked in Clairtone, McCarron's Restaurant, and James Diner. She is survived by daughters, Audrey Dowell (Arthur), Green Hill; Linda Broda (Ron), Victoria, B.C.; son, Michael (Sandra), New Glasgow; and several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She is also survived by sisters-in-law Daisy MacDonald, Alma, Thelma MacDonald, New Glasgow, and Irene MacDonald, Thorburn. She was predeceased by her husband George; a son, David; and daughter, Gina; as well as two infant grandsons, Arthur and Gerald; brothers, John F., Bernard, Alfred. Ambrose, and William; and sisters: Ellen, Marguerite Watters, Agnes Carter, Marjorie Glacier, Marie "Vee" Raun, and Anna Marcipont. Visitations will be held 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at Eagles Funeral Home, Westville. Her funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday from the Church of the Holy Name, Westville with Father Donald Boudreau officiating. Burial will be in the Holy Name Cemetery, Westville.
