Caroline Fraser

FRASER, Caroline -The death of Caroline Fraser occurred at home in Central Caribou on December 4, 2008. Born in Central Caribou she was a daughter of the late Alexander and Kathleen (Heighton) Fraser. She worked for many years in New York in the advertising industry. While living there she was active in the Canadian Women's Club of New York, and served one term as president. Caroline returned to Pictou County in 1984, and later became Administrator of the Hector Exhibit Centre and McCulloch House. She had a keen interest in genealogy, historical houses, and Scottish history. Caroline was also on the Hector Launch Committee in 1999-2000. The wildlife which existed around her property always gave her great enjoyment. She had an interest in gardening and was a member of the Pictou Garden Club. Caroline also participated in activities at the New Horizons Senior Citizens Club, and was a member of the Progressive Conservative Association. She is survived by sisters, Elizabeth Fraser, Halifax; Margaret Lutchin, Hamilton, Ontario; niece, Kate Lutchin, Hamilton; special cousin, Carolyn Lietenis and family, Long Island; and a number of other cousins. Cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation by request. Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday from the St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church, Pictou, with Rev. Alan Stewart officiating. Burial will be in the Central Caribou Cemetery. A reception will follow in the church hall. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. If desired donations in her memory may be made to the Palliative Care Society, the V.O.N., or the St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church. Arrangements are under the direction of McLaren Funeral Service, Pictou.
