Clara Elizabeth Bernas (Gostock)
Born: April 8th, 1923
NEW GLASGOW – Clara Elizabeth Bernas (Gostock), 84, of New Glasgow, passed away peacefully at the Aberdeen Hospital with family by her side. Born April 8, 1923, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Naomi (Newcombe) Gostock. She worked at the Gun Shop During the Second World War. Clara was a member of Saint George’s Anglican Church. She was a life member of Royal Canadian Legion Br. 34 New Glasgow and a member of the 55 Plus Club, Gun Shop Memory Club and Trenton Twirlers Square Dance Club. She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Felix Joseph Bernas; son, David (Cecila) Bernas, New Glasgow; daughters: Diane (Joe) Gibson, Dartmouth; Caroline (Claude) Piccini, Dartmouth; Judy Major, Vancouver; Pat (Jim) Blad, New Glasgow; Janette (Matthew) Morrison, Calgary; 20 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; brother, Alfred (Adrienne) Gostock, Haliburton, Ont.; sister-in-law, Jennie Gostock, New Glasgow. She was predeceased by brothers, Charles (Emma) Gostock, Edward Gostock. Visitation 2-4 and 7-9 p.m., Friday in the R.H. Porter Funeral Home New Glasgow. Funeral service 2 p.m., Saturday in Saint George’s Anglican Church with Rev. Aidan Kingsbury officiating. Burial will be in Lorne Street Cemetery at a later date. Donations in her memory may be made to the N.S. Heart and Stroke Foundation.
