BROOKLAND - Clara Jeanette MacKay, age 84 , Brookland, Pictou County passed away on Thursday, April 12, 2007 in High Crest Place, New Glasgow. Born in Six Mile Brook on October 18, 1922, she was a daughter of the late Elmer and Anna (Barry) Rae. She is survived by daughters: Ann McNeily (David Thorton), Fredericton; Lee Sibille, (Eric), Salt Springs; Heather Ellis (Allison), Coverhead, P.E.I.; Kelly Fraser (John) Coldbrook; sons, Bill (Linda), Stellarton; Sandy (Helen); Strachan (Karen); Everett (Leah); Sterling (Joan), all of Saltsprings; 21 grand children and seven great-grandchildren. Clara is also survived by sisters; Margaret Rushton (Roy), Tanner Hill; Norma Rae, Pictou; two brothers, Russell Rae (Segrid), Oxford, Sherwin Rae, Toronto. She was predeceased by her husband Bill; brothers: George, Clifford and Clarence Rae; sister, Mildred Fergus and grandson, Zachary. Cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation or funeral service at the request of the deceased. A graveside service will take place for family and friends at a later date at Gladstone Cemetery, Four Mile Brook.
