Trenton - David Karl Martin, age 86, of the Northumberland Veterans Unit, Pictou, and formerly of Main Street, Trenton, passed away Friday, April 6, 2007, in the Unit. Born in Trenton, he was a son of the late George and Margaret (Sutherland) Martin. He was retired from the Canadian Navy and was a veteran of the Second World War. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 29 Trenton. He is survived by daughter, Pat, Pictou; sons, John G. "Butch", Moscow; Charles, Vancouver; four grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, sister, Vina MacLaughlin, Lethbridge. He was predeceased by his wife, Theresa "Tess"; many brothers and sisters. Cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation by request. Memorial service 6:30 p.m. Thursday in the R.H. Porter Funeral Home, Trenton. Donations in his memory may be made to a charity of choice.
