Denise Nicole Moore

Denise Nicole Moore, 64, formerly of Dartmouth, passed away on January 23, 2008, in Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow, surrounded by her family. A devoted wife and mother, Denise's passion and life purpose was to take care of her family, which she did with much love. She worked as switchboard operator at Dartmouth Answering Service, Dartmouth General Hospital and Woodlawn Medical Clinic. In 1997, she and her husband retired to their cottage at Porcupine Lake in Trafalgar. There she volunteered at Tearmann House in New Glasgow, and enjoyed a wonderful social network including Saturday night darts with her many friends from surrounding lakes. She will be forever missed by her husband of 46 years and loving caregiver, Keith; daughters, Lisa Lowry (Bubba Pino), Dartmouth, and Lori, Kentville; son, Johnny (Wendy Andrews), Stellarton; grandchildren, Amy and Adam Lowry, Dartmouth; mother, Dorothy Rodgers, Dartmouth; brothers, Dennis (Diane), Dartmouth, Dana (Cheryl), Dartmouth, John (Donna), Mississauga, ON; sisters, Donna DeYoung (Ed), Eastern Passage, Bonnie Boutilier (Alvin), Pope's Harbour; sister-in-law, Laurel Manuel, Windsor; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by son, Billy, and father, Dennis Rodgers. Visitation will be Friday, January 25, 2008, 2-4 and 7-9 p.m., and a celebration of Denise's life will be on Saturday, January 26, 2008, at 11 a.m., at Atlantic Funeral Home, 771 Main St., Dartmouth, Rev. Jody Clarke and Rev. Peter Armstrong officiating. Interment in Dartmouth Memorial Gardens with reception to follow at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the ALS Society of Nova Scotia or Aberdeen Hospital Palliative Care.
