Doug Mcinnis

TRENTON - It is with deep sadness that the family announces the passing of Doug McInnis, on April 27, 2007, in the Palliative Care Unit of the Aberdeen Hospital, surrounded by his loving family. Born in 1939, he was a son of the late John "Jack" and Jessie Anne (MacLean) McInnis. He was a member of Christ the King Roman Catholic Church; a 20-year veteran of the Trenton Fire Dept.; member of Tri-County Cursillo Movement; Corps of Commissionaires; 40-year member of the Royal Canadian Legion Br. 29, where he was currently serving as Padre. He retired from TrentonWorks after 38 years. Doug is survived by his wife and best friend of 44 years, the former Colette McChesney; their children: Michele (Owen) Ferguson, Westville; Jim "Juice" (Stephanie), Harriston, Ontario; Rhonda (Wally) Richard, Linacy; Trevor (Krista), Westville; chosen son, Danny (Kelly) Grace, Fraser's Mountain. Grampa will be sadly missed by Craig, Tiffany, Tyler, Bailey, Isabella and Mason who were his pride and joy. He is also survived by three step-grandchildren; brothers, Colin (Norma), Country Harbour; Bet (Marlene), Port Bickerton; sisters: Eunice (Earl) MacKenzie; Mary Henderson; Renie (Aulden) Jenkins; Mildred (Don) Connell, all of Trenton; sister-in-law, Audrey MacMillan; brother-in-law, Laurie MacSween; numerous nieces and nephews; mother-in-law, Mary Dunn. He was predeceased by brothers, Pete, Donnie and Neil in infancy; sisters, Dot, Jessie and Hilda in infancy; nephew, Shane Dunn. Visitation Monday 7-9 p.m. and Tuesday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in the R.H. Porter Funeral Home, New Glasgow. Funeral mass 11 a.m. Wednesday from Saint John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church with Father Danny MacLennan officiating. Cremation to follow. Burial of ashes at a later date. Donations in Doug's memory may be made to a charity of one's choice. Royal Canadian Legion Branch 29 Trenton will meet at the funeral home at 6:30 pm Tuesday to conduct their service.
