NEW GLASGOW – Eleanor Ann Carruthers, 66, of Abercrombie Road, New Glasgow, passed away Wednesday, October 31st, 2007, at the Aberdeen Hospital. Born in New Glasgow, she was the daughter of the late Earl and Anna Mae (MacDonald) Luther. Eleanor was a resident of New Glasgow all of her life. She was a member of Trinity United Church, New Glasgow. She was a member of the Aberdeen Hospital Ladies Auxiliary and past President of the Westside Community Centre. Surviving are husband, Ross, New Glasgow; daughter; Wendy Carruthers, Pictou Landing; brother; Bill (Norma) Luther, Halifax; several nieces and nephews. The family will receive visitors from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m Saturday in the H.W. Angus Funeral Home, New Glasgow. Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday from Trinity United Church with Rev. Lori Crocker officiating. Burial will be in the Greenwood Cemetery, Pictou Landing. Family flowers only please. Donations in memory of Eleanor may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
