CENTRAL CARIBOU – Eli Burton Corbett, 79, of Central Caribou, passed away January 20, 2008, in Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow. Born in Five Islands, he was a son of the late Lisby and Elizabeth (Stewart) Corbett. Eli was a loving father, a hard worker, and was loved by all who knew him. He will be sadly missed by his wife, Theresa (MacPhee); son, Roddie (Connie) MacPhee, Pictou; daughters: Lillian (Leroy) Carr, PEI; Shirley (Robert) Winters, Pictou; Lois (James) Morrison, Pictou; Lisa (Steven) Carr, PEI; seven brothers; five sisters; 14 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by sons, Shaun and Jimmie; one brother, one sister. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday in McLaren Funeral Home, Pictou. Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Thursday from McLaren Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Dr. Glen Matheson officiating. Burial will be in Central Caribou Cemetery. No flowers by request.
