Florence Isabelle McMahon formerly of William Street, New Glasgow, passed away peacefully in Glen Haven Manor on Saturday, May 10, 2008, in her 98th year. Born in 1910, she was a daughter of the late Dan and Katherine (Gillis) MacDonald. Beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, and dear friend to many. Florence will be lovingly missed by her daughters, Shirley (Paul) Breton, Durham, Ont.; Joan MacDonald, Welland, Ont.; Mary (Leonard) McCullough, Scotch Hill; sons, John (Joyce) McMahon, Wallace; Allan (Audrey) McMahon, Mississauga, Ont.; daughter-in-law, Beverly McMahon, New Glasgow. She will be fondly remembered by her 17 grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Florence was predeceased by her husband, John “Jack” McMahon, sons William “Red” McMahon, Donnie McMahon; sister, Elizabeth, grandson, Thomas. Visitation 6-9 p.m. Tuesday in the R.H. Porter Funeral Home New Glasgow. Funeral mass 10 a.m. Wednesday in Saint John The Baptist Roman Catholic Church with Father Gary MacPherson and Father Donald Boudreau officiating. Burial in Holy Cross Cemetery. Family flowers only. Donations may be made to Holy Cross Cemetery Fund.
