NEW GLASGOW - Hazel Madeline Matheson, age 91, of Halifax, formerly of Roderick Street and East River Road, New Glasgow, passed away Saturday, July 28, 2007, in the QE11, New Infirmary Site. Born in Middleboro, she lived most of her life in New Glasgow and was the daughter of the late Robert and Blanche (Howard) Mitchell. She was a longtime employee of the Sally Shop in New Glasgow. She is survived by her sons, Robert "Sandy", Halifax; Dr. Hugh (Phyllis), Halifax; grandchildren: Christopher, Mark, Michael, Andrew; brother-in-law, Fraser (Sylvia) Matheson, New Glasgow. She was predeceased by her husband, Hugh. Visitation will be 2 to 4 p.m. Tuesday in the R.H. Porter Funeral Home, New Glasgow, from where funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday with Rev. Jim Chisholm officiating. Burial will be in Lorne Street Cemetery. Donations in her memory may be made to the Alzheimer Society.
