NEW GLASGOW – Janet Lorraine Rankin, 73, of 346 Brother Street, New Glasgow, died Wednesday, October 31, 2007, in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow. Born in Bowmanville, Ontario, she was a daughter of the late Morley and Reta (Gibson) Simmons Janet was a resident of New Glasgow for the past 25 years where she was employed with Harris Rentals for some 15 years. She had previously lived in Ontario where she worked as a bookkeeper. She is survived by a son, Steven Rankin, Toronto, Ontario; a sister, Beverley Faris, Collingwood, Ontario; and a brother, William Simmons, Ontario. Cremation to take place. There will be no visitation or service at the request of the deceased. Burial will take place in Heatherdale Memorial Gardens at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of the H.W. Angus Funeral Home, New Glasgow.
