Murray, Jessie Kathleen, 101, of Valley View Villa, Riverton, formerly of New Jersey passed away Thursday, December 6th, 2007, at the Villa. Born in Lorne, Pictou County, she was the daughter of the late John James and Abigail (McCarthy) Fraser. Jessie was married to the late Dr. William Edward Murray. She had attended the Lorne School, Pictou Academy, New Glasgow High School, Normal College and Dalhousie University. She was a former member of St. Columba United Church, Hopewell and Westminister Presbyterian Church, New Glasgow. She and her family lived for many years in New Jersey. She returned to New Glasgow in 1987 residing on Mayflower Drive. She moved to the Villa in 1998. She is survived by her son, John R. Murray, Blairstown, NJ; granddaughters, Wendy K. Flanagan, Blairstown; Jennifer H. Murray, Portland, OR; Aimee J. Murray, Nevada City, CA; great grandsons, Angus M. and Garret J. Flanagan, both of Blairstown; great granddaughter, Lydia Pearl Decelle, Nevada City, CA; nieces, Elizabeth Morrison, Winnipeg and Abigail MacLeod, Calgary. She was predeceased by her twin sister, Victoria MacLeod. The family will receive visitors from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. on Monday in the H. C. MacQuarrie Funeral Home, Stellarton. There will be no funeral by request. Family flowers only. Jessie will be returned to New Jersey for burial. Donations in memory of Jessie may be made to the Valley View Villa.
