John Albert Muir, of 636 Kelly's Cr., Fredericton, NB, passed away quietly in the morning of April 30, 2007, after a short and sudden illness. Born in Westville, NS, on September 5th, 1936, the son of the late Charles Muir and Mabel (Henderson) Muir. He left his loving wife of 50 years Betty (Russell); two sons, Shawn (Laura) and Russel (Darlene); and three grandsons, John, Ryan and Colin, whom he loved very much; brother, Herb (Kay) of Trenton, NS; sister, Trudy Dalling of Trenton, ON; and several nephews and one niece. He will be missed by Betty's sisters, Jackie (Bud) Clayton and Debbie Russell (David Cozac), and mother-in-law, Pat Russell. Albert spent 32 years in the Canadian Armed Forces with postings taking him to Kingston ON, Egypt, Vancouver BC, Gagetown, Ottawa, Germany, North Bay and Comox BC. He retired in Fredericton NB and managed Branch # 4 Legion for nine years. There will be no public visitation by Albert's request. A memorial service will take place at McAdams Funeral Home, Fredericton, NB, with Rev. Paul Thompson officiating on May 5 at 2 p.m. The Royal Canadian Legion Branch # 4 will hold a Legion Tribute service immediately following the memorial service. All are invited to a reception in the adjoining room following the services.
