John William "Bill" MacDonald, 69, of Abercrombie, formerly of Elizabeth Street, Westville, passed away Friday, March 23rd, 2007, at the Aberdeen Hospital. Born in Doctor's Brook, Antigonish County, he was a son of the late Stephen and Marcella (MacDonald) MacDonald. Bill was a loving father. He was a postal worker in Pictou County having finishing his career in Stellarton. Surviving are sons, Alan, New Glasgow; Fred, Toronto; Stephen, New Glasgow; brothers: Hughie, Jackie, Ronnie, Steve and Leo; sister, Catherine "Testie"; granddaughter, Melissa MacDonald, Truro; several nieces and nephews; special friend, Margie Dorie. He was predeceased by brothers, Joe and Sandy, and a sister, Mary. Cremation has taken place. Family flowers only please. There will be no visitation by request. Memorial mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday from St. Gregory's Roman Catholic Church, New Glasgow, with Father Danny MacLennan officiating. Burial will be in the Abercrombie Cemetery. Donations in memory of Bill may be made to the Heart And Stroke Foundation, the Kidney Foundation or to a charity of one's choice. Arrangements are under the direction of the H. W. Angus Funeral Home, New Glasgow.
