STELLARTON – Hudry, Joseph Francis- 88. It is with deep sorrow but with a spirit of faith and hope we announce Joe’s death December 19, 2007, in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow. Born in New Glasgow, he was a son of the late Emile Armand and Leonie (Prevost) Hudry. Joe lived most of his life in Stellarton. He was an electrician by trade and owned and operated his own company. Joe was a member of the Bible Baptist Church, New Glasgow and was involved with Christian Outreach. He was well known for his singing voice, having done solos in many churches throughout the county. He was a former member of the Stellarton Male Chorus. Joe was the last surviving member of his immediate family. Surviving are his wife, the former Gertrude Avery; daughters: Veronica (Vic) Stewart, Ottawa, ON; Mary (Harry) Howard, Grimsby, ON; Geraldine (Keith) Berry, Milford, NS; Bernadette (Terry) Nelson, Lower Sackville, NS; Donna (Bill) Gennoe, Stellarton, NS; son, Edward “Eddie” (Joan) Stellarton; grandchildren: Gregory Stewart, Pamela Baltussen; Jacqueline Ross; Christopher, Kevin and Jaclyn Berry; Jennifer, Karen and Amy Hudry; Colin and Kara Gennoe; Joseph and Michael Nelson and nine great-grandchildren. Predeceased by grandson, David Howard; sisters, Florence and Mary; and brothers, Edward and Alfred. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday in the H.C. MacQuarrie Funeral Home, Stellarton. Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in Bible Baptist Church, Abercrombie Rd., New Glasgow, with Pastor Dan Vachon officiating. A reception will follow in the church hall. Spring burial in Brookside Cemetery. Family flowers only. Donations in Joe’s Memory may be made to the Nova Scotia Heart and Stroke Fund.
